The Simple Woman's Daybook meme

Outside my window... There is something very large and noisy!

I am thinking... That I should be finishing up my last pro-blog post of the day instead of playing with my personal blog!

I am thankful for... Being healthy, employed and happily married.

From the learning rooms...(if this applies)... My studio is filled to the brim with treasured books - I'm sure this counts :-) And this is the room where I plan my lessons for the classes I teach...

From the kitchen... There could be a peach smoothie...

I am wearing... Cozy socks and a fleece vest - my studio is the coldest room in the house.

I am creating... Well I should be created a blog post...

I am going... To the library and pick up a few groceries.

I am reading... I just finished "Thief Of Time" by Terry Pratchett and haven't decided what book I'm going to pick up next.

I am hoping... To find the perfect house :-)

I am hearing... The large and noisy thing outside is still being large & noisy. Inside my studio is a lot more pleasant, with the noise of the fish tank and a happy parrot beeping on my shoulder.

Around the house... Dogs. Several dogs.

One of my favorite things... I have to pick one? Fresh coffee, sleeping in on the weekends with a bed full of dogs, sunny days in winter, plants blooming on my window sill.

A few plans for the rest of the week: ... Blogging, blogging and more blogging. Getting together with family and hopefully having a date night with my DH

That meme that's going 'round the interwebs...

It's meme-tastic over here! Here are 25 basically random things you may or may not have known about me...

  1. I love having weird coloured hair - seriously, I don't feel like myself if I don't have pink hair (or blue, or purple...)
  2. I've never lived without at least one pet.
  3. Which brings us to #3, my hubby & I have three dogs, two goldfish, two zebra finches and a parrot.
  4. I'm down to drinking half-caff coffee, but I just can't seem to give up caffeine all together.
  5. One of my jobs is writing a bunch of blogs - I'm up to 5 pro-blogs.
  6. I also teach kids arts & craft classes and adult jewelry classes.
  7. Given the option, I like to sleep until 9 in the morning... or later.
  8. I am not a morning person!
  9. I'm happily married.
  10. But we don't have any kids... yet.
  11. Generally - I'm pretty messy.
  12. But I can usually find whatever I need in my studio.
  13. I'm nervous on small boats - I'm still scared of water.
  14. And no, I can't swim.
  15. I don't generally wear high heels - I love my kitten heels though!
  16. I'm a pretty good baker - bread, cakes, cookies - I'm your girl :-)
  17. I'm a nerd... or a geek - which is which again?
  18. Horror movies are very, very bad. Seriously, I saw I am Legend months ago and it still gives me nightmares.
  19. I think I am officially addicted to fabric.
  20. I get along great with my in-laws.
  21. Red roses are a great way to put a smile on my face. Luckily, my husband knows this :-)
  22. I enjoy sitting down and reading the "real" edition of the paper - reading the online version just doesn't interest me as much.
  23. I've had the same cell phone for almost 3 years. When I like something, I try and keep it around for a long time.
  24. Which may explain why my car was manufactured when I was a teenager...
  25. I am still a fan of animated kids movies. I try and not drag my hubby to them too often, but he's got to pay me back for seeing 28 Weeks Later somehow...

Things I Love Thursday

It's been awhile since I've participated in TiLT - but I felt inspired this week :-)

  • Being a Canadian - what can I say, Remembrance Day always makes me feel patriotic and proud :-)
  • Being an army wife - it's that whole patriotic thing...
  • Pink hair - although I seriously need to dye mine again
  • the library - free books!
  • cuddling up on my couch with a cup of hot chocolate on a cool and blustery day
  • My family!

Carpe Diem

Tell your friends and family you love them - every day.

Don't put things off... you'll never know if you'll have the chance again.

Life is short & precious - make sure you're living the way you want to.

Yes, it's been a brutal couple of weeks... and then there was more bad news this morning.

Hug more, criticize less.

Make the art you want to.
